After days of awaiting news about his missing wife, a religious and stoic man fails to notice the strange events surrounding his deranged son. Catching him in the act of tormenting a young girl, the farther begins to see his true nature. He later recognises the girl in a stack of missing posters and races to find his son, only to discover that he is responsible for her murder, and many more. Distraught from the realisation, the father is faced with an impossible choice.
My Role
I worked as an animator on a third-year grad film, helping bring some of the story’s heavier moments to life. I handled rough animation, tiedowns, and colouring for a few scenes, making sure the characters’ emotions and actions came through clearly. Our team used Notion to keep everything organized-assigning tasks, tracking progress, and staying on the same page. The film follows a father slowly uncovering his son’s dark secret, so it was important that the animation matched the intense tone of the story.
My Scene
For my scene in the film, the director specifically assigned it to me because he felt it was an important moment and wanted someone with strong technical skills on it. I’ve always been comfortable with character acting, so I was happy to take it on. I tend to play around with the storyboard a bit, seeing where I can push things or add a bit of flair to make the performance more engaging. I kind of just test the limits and see what I can get away with, which makes the process more fun and, I think, adds some personality to the final piece.
